Honda never really made it in the executive segment because the carmaker never made the jump to V8 powertrains like Nissan/Infiniti or Lexus did. If it’s not essential in Europe, it’s considered like a crime of lese-majesty in the country of V8s explaining. But the situation might change.

Honda delays the next NSX by two years
By Yoann Besnard on 23 July 2007 | (0) Comments | Permalink
Honda CEO Takeo Fukui has announced that Honda will postpone the launch of the next NSX from 2008 to 2010. This is bad news not only for Honda fans but for all car fanatics.
The delay is due to the Acura brand that Honda wants to launch in Japan. Originally planned for 2008, Honda decided recently to postpone its introduction until 2010. One possible reason for their decision is fellow Japanese carmaker Toyota's lack of success with its Lexus brand on the Japanese market.

Honda delivers a Fuel Cell vehicle to the first customer ever
By Stéphane Schlesinger on 30 June 2005 | (1) Comments | Permalink
The revolutionary Honda FCX, an advanced hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle, was delivered on June 29 to the Spallino family, who signed a 2-year agreement with Honda. They’ll use the FCX as an ordinary vehicle for everyday’s commute, in California. Reducing pollution is a big concern in California, and last April, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the state’s commitment to a Hydrogen Highway built underway by 2010 with both public and private money. Without this, the delivery of a fuel cell vehicle would not have been possible. The fleet will be extended to 13 cars throughout the USA.
The Spallino’s invaluable experience will help Honda develop this technology. The FCX is the only vehicle certified by US EPA (environmental protection agency) and CARB (California’s air resource board) . It can run even at subfreezing temperatures, returns 62mpg for a range of 190 miles, with no emission..

New Civic at Frankfurt?
By Stéphane Schlesinger on 22 June 2005 | (0) Comments | Permalink
Needless to say that today’s Honda Civic has not been endowed with the same charisma as the 80s-made Civics’. Moreover, its sombre cabin has been of no help, despite its good accommodation. The spyshots as well as the concept-cars shown by Honda let us guess that the oncoming Civic will try to seduce us in the manner of its ancestors. Apparently, the new Honda will hide its rear door handles so as to look like a coupe, just like a 5-door Alfa 147 does. Inside, there should be 2 instrument clusters in front of the driver, one right behind the wheel and another one at the base of the windshield.
Besides, the new Civic will also come as a saloon.
Amazingly enough, the concept car recalls a Delta Integrale-based prototype released by Pininfarina in 1988, the Hit.
