She was all smiles as she got out of her sizzling Doran Ford GT. And she had good reason to smile, because she became the first women to be on a Le Mans 24 Hours podium since 1931! Andrea Robertson, mother of one and grandmother of three, and her husband David, associated to driving instructor David Murry finished their first (and probably last) Le Mans 24 Hours with flying colors as 26th overall and 3rd in GTE AM class!

Yes, you got that right, the famous way too nose heavy machine that Knudsen had Kar Kraft build to get the BOSS429 engine homologuated by NASCAR. V8 and Ford Capri: only in South Africa

Here is the Capri that most european fans often dreamed that Ford Germany should have built. Basil Green Motors, a Ford dealership in Johannesburg, South Africa, showed that a 302 V8 could be fitted with no major surgery. Basil was already know for his powerfull Cortina V6 conversion, so the Capri V8 was a logical step in the same direction. The resulting muscle machine was rightfully named the Perana! The Perana Capri was even raced nationaly with great success by Team Gunston. The pristine example here belongs to Mr. K. from beautiful Switzerland.

After the Fiesta, Ford has plan to sell other European vehicles in the US. The next-generation Mondeo was previously reported to come to the US. Closer to us, the next Focus will be developed in the US and sold in the US.
